Manaslu meaning “Mountain of Spirit” is the 8th highest 8 163 meters) mountain in the world, located in the midwest part of Nepal. Manaslu was first climbed on May 9 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu members of a Japanese expedition team.
Manaslu is considered one of the safest and easiest 8000 peaks which offers an excellent opportunity to gain climbing experience at over 8000 meters altitude. Mt Manaslu is climbed in autumn, hence considered a great training mountain for Everest in the spring season of the following year. But still climbing over 8000 m is a serious undertaking as the climb offers beautiful views, along with exposure to high altitude, and Himalayan mountaineering systems like fixed line climbing and ladder crossing.
The standard climbing route via North East Face follows 4 high camps above basecamp The climbing route ascends moderately angled snow slopes on the lower reaches with a short steep slope above Camp One The angle picks up towards Camp Four, where we follow fixed ropes through a series of short ice bulges to arrive on a flat col and campsite
