Himlung Himal
Mount Himlung 7126M, lies in the secluded Mustang region, on the border of Nepal and Tibet. The mountain was opened for climbing in 1992 and the first summit of the peak was made in the same year by a Japanese team of Mr. Akio Koizumi. Himlung is categorized as technically easy and ideal entry-level for 7000ers with the Base camp being set up at an altitude of 4900m & 3 high camps i.e. C-1 at 5450m, C-2 at 6150m, C-3 at 6375m. Due to its less technical nature, the mountain is easy to ascent however one should not underestimate the Himlung, as a large part of the ascent has to be covered at great heights. Steeper sections and exposed passages are secured with fixed ropes. From the summit, you can enjoy an incredible 360 ° view over Dhaulagiri, Annapurna to Manaslu and towards the Tibetan plateau.
Also, the journey to Himlung passes through the village of Nar and Phu where you can experience the traditional lifestyle of Tibetan Culture. The trail that leads to the Himlung base camp is quiet and less explored which passes through high peaks and passes, Glaciers, remote villages, forests, Gumbas, and unique cultural settlements.
