Every mountain is another mountain regardless of its height. Although Everest is not as technical but requires a good deal of mountaineering experience and skills for your own safety and of the team. Kaitu Expedition requires our clients to have participated in Himalayan expeditions above 6000 meters & one of the 8000 meters with knowledge of basic mountaineering skills and experience of expedition life. The clients should be confident and comfortable to adopt Himalayan mountaineering practices such as using fixed ropes to ascend, descend, and crevasse crossing using ladders. 

** We highly recommend our clients sign up for Mt. Manaslu Expedition 8163 meters with us to prepare and train for Everest. This is a great opportunity to build self-confidence by testing yourself at 8000 meters, familiarize yourself with fixed rope climbing, and ladder crossing, and above all get to know the team for your ultimate dream – Everest. 

A Nepal Visa (multiple entry) can be obtained on arrival at Kathmandu Airport. Current visa cost is $30 for a 15-day visa and $50 for a 30-day visa & $125 for 90 days. For our Expedition trips, we advise you to take a 90-Days Visa. The visa fee should be paid in cash in US Dollars or equivalent to Pounds Sterling or Euros. 
During Peak season, the airport gets overcrowded. To avoid the long queues at Immigration, it's best if you can pre-apply the online Nepal Visa Form:- https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/on-arrival/IO01 
 
NOTE: Your passport needs to be valid for at least six (6) months after your journey ends and should have a minimum of one (1) blank visa page for entry and exit stamps

For your own personal health; it is strongly recommended that travelers are covered against the following diseases; Poliomyelitis (childhood booster), Tetanus (childhood booster), Typhoid (food and water-borne disease), and Hepatitis A (food and water-borne disease). For those undertaking a longer more rural trip to Nepal, other vaccinations may need to be considered including Hepatitis B, Rabies, Japanese B, and Meningitis.
There are seasonal outbreaks of dengue fever / Malaria, especially in the southeast of Nepal, but cases have been reported across much of the country. There is currently no vaccine or prophylaxis available for Dengue, and therefore the best form of prevention is to avoid being bitten. 
Most of our trips to Nepal go to high altitudes where there is a risk of being affected by Acute Mountain Sickness. Our itineraries are designed to enable everyone to acclimatize to these altitudes, but you should be aware that it is still possible for you to be affected.

In Kathmandu - we use a range of excellent 4-star category hotels & can be tailored to your preference. 

While on a trek; lodges are simple, friendly, and atmospheric with heated dining areas. Bedrooms are, however, basic and unheated with wooden beds and foam mattresses. You will need a sleeping bag. The lodges have shared washing and toilet facilities. Some lodges have solar-powered showers (charged at $4 - $5 per shower) and battery-charging facilities (also charged at a rate per hour). 

At Base Camp; life is made as comfortable as possible for your pleasant stay. Hence we provide a large & spacious 10X7ft Personal Box Tent for each client. And for Higher camps, there will be 2 Men Kailas X3 Alpine tents. 

All meals on the trek will be provided by the lodge. At base camp, we have a fully equipped kitchen with well-trained kitchen staff to prepare delicious meals by maintaining strict hygiene practices. Our chef will prepare three meals a day with a variety of choices from continental/Japanese/Chinese and Nepali/Tibetan cuisine. We mostly use fresh meat, vegetables and fruits on our expeditions.

An unlimited supply of snacks and hot drinks 24 hours in the dining tent is available. During the climb, we mostly use dry/dehydrated foods except in Camp 2 where we have a cook & a proper kitchen set up to provide hot meals.

We strongly recommend you have a valid Travel + Medical insurance policy to cover the cost of medical treatment, and emergency helicopter evacuation and to protect the value of your holiday in the event of cancellation. When taking out insurance please ensure the policy you choose covers you for the activities and altitude included in your itinerary.

We believe in delivering the highest standard of client care. A team of dedicated and experienced Sherpa will provide support for the climb while expert kitchen staff will fuel the team with hygienic and nutritious meals for clients and support staff alike.

Booking confirmation must be done 60 days before the departure date of the expedition from Kathmandu. 
A non-refundable US$ 5000 advance payment must be made after signing the Service Agreement between the two parties 45 days before the expedition departure date. 
The client must provide evidence of prior mountaineering experience and a Medical Report signed by a physician stating otherwise healthy and fit. 

An expedition member may then cancel their participation on the following basis: 

• Cancellations outside of 60 days will result in the loss of the trip deposit. 
• For cancellations made within 45 days of the trip commencement date, we reserve the right to retain 50% of the balance payment fee. 
• For cancellations within 30 days of the departure date, a cancellation fee of 100% of the full fee applies. 

We strongly recommend you take out trip cancellation insurance via your travel agent if you wish to be covered against cancellation due to medical or personal reasons.
